Supported by LCB Depot, Silver Vine Arts and De Montfort University; Leila Galloway was selected as Summer Art Trail's artist in residence for 2015. For two months Leila Galloway spent her time collating, mapping, drawing, walking and recording while investigating the local histories and physical artifacts found in buildings, on the streets and in recording archives.
Leila’s practice includes drawing, sculpture, installation and sound, which investigate elegiac and somatic qualities through material form. She unravels possible meaning through the systematic, playful and exploratory handling of materials until the final objects present references or triggers for the spectator to experience a contradiction between two states of being.
